Once upon a time....
That's how all the stories start, right? Then the princess meets her prince, is swept off her feet, they marry in true fairy tale style and live happily ever after.
Well, then what?
That's when things get really interesting. That's when the fairy tale continues.
The happy couple find a cute little apartment in the city, unpack all the gifts they received for their wedding, and settle into marital bliss. Then one day...one day...the princess starts to feel a little funny. Maybe she's really tired. Maybe she's feeling sort of queasy. Whatever the reason may be, it prompts her to take a little test. And there it is: the plus sign. The two lines. The word "pregnant" on the digital screen (because one in three women can misread a traditional pregnancy test. More on that later). However the news is delivered, suddenly everything changes.
Baby makes three.
It's a true story. My daddy always said I was a princess, and my husband has done nothing to make me think otherwise. I met my prince, and in typical tale fashion, fell head over heels for him. We were married on a perfect morning in June in the happiest place on earth with a stunning view of a castle, and now, two and a half years from that June day, we're preparing for our first little one.
We're eleven weeks in, and time seems to be moving verrrrry slowly to that day in late July when we will finally meet the reason I've been sleeping 16 hours a day and eating nothing but raspberries (and the occasional chili cheese dog). I'm a writer by nature, but wary of putting too much personal info online, so my husband suggested I write an anonymous blog chronicling this incredibly exciting and extremely baffling time of our lives.
So I invite you to join us in our happily ever after as we prepare for baby and learn the ins and outs of pregnancy and babies. It's bound to be the most exciting chapter yet.
Great idea! I can't wait for the next installment.
